Stensat Telemetry

Default telemetry is once every 5 seconds. This may be changed by DTMF command to once every 120 seconds. When telemetry is transmitted, the receiver squelch control is turned off (low).

Telemetry Packets

The normal telemetry packet looks like:

    N4AFL-1>TELEM<UI C>: T#000,255,004,037,129,032,010 STENSAT PICOSAT

where the Telemetry numbers are (in order):

bullet     Sequence number - goes to 255, then rolls to zero
bullet     Power supply monitor
bullet     Current monitor
bullet     Temp monitor
bullet     2.5 volt reference
bullet     Current RSSI value
bullet     Three light sensors (low value means light is striking the sensor):

Light sensor values are (in order):
    1. Flat face (3 by 4 inches)
    2. Long side (1 by 4 inches)
    3. Short side (1 by 3 inches)

Additional packet trailer will appear when requested with the report extended packet command:    *CH X000 B000 L000 000 000 R032 D128

where:

bullet X is the radiation checksum (nominally zero)
bullet B is the reboot counter - incremented each reboot
bullet L is the three light sensors connected to B7, B6, B5
bullet R is the RSSI threshold.
bullet D is the antenna release threshold.

 

Morse ID

A Morse code ID is sent every four minutes (240 seconds). The current ID is:
